AFIA DEI Index is a nation-wide initiative developed by The Forum to address the barriers experienced by women entrepreneurs in accessing the financial capital they need to succeed, especially BIPOC women and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.
We offer Canadian funders a dynamic package of resources and services to advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Reconciliation in business funding.
This initiative is funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada.

Business Benefits Finder:This resource for all Canadian entrepreneurs, whether you are looking to launch or grow their business, can help you find the right programs and services based on your business needs and goals. By answering interactive questions and filtering the results accordingly, the Business Benefits Finder lets you customize your search, which can help access the right. You also have the option to view or search all programs and services.
Canada Business App:Download the Canada Business App, which will make it easier to find various governments programs and services that can help you navigate through the information within the Canadian entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Center for Women in Business:The Centre for Women in Business is dedicated to helping female-identifying entrepreneurs across Canada succeed through exposure, connection and learning. From one-on-one business advice and skills training to networking and membership programs, we help our clients launch new business ideas, propel established companies to new levels of success, and thrive as owners, CEOs and industry leaders.
Liaison Officer Service:The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) offers a free Liaison Officer service to owners of small businesses and self-employed individuals to help them understand their business tax obligations. A visit from a Liaison Officer is 100% confidential; the information discussed with a Liaison Officer will not be shared with other areas of the CRA, or anyone else.
Women's Enterprise Oganizations of Canada (WEOC): Women's Entreprise Oganizations of Canada (WEOC) is an association of organizations that work directly with women entrepreneurs. WEOC members support women entrepreneurs through a variety of services and initiatives, including business training, advising, financing, and mentorship.
WEOC supports its members by providing learning and networking opportunities, sharing best practices, and curating a variety of resources so members have the tools needed to support their clients.
Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES):The Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) is a national plan that aims to increase access to financing, talent, networks and expertise for women entrepreneurs, providing them with what they need to launch, grow and expand their businesses. Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH):With a network consisting of 10 regional hubs and over 250 organizations established as part of the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) provides a variety of resources to Canadian women entrepreneurs, including research, latest news, shared platforms, events and centralized access to entrepreneurial networks for women. By visiting the WEKH website, women entrepreneurs across Canada can use their extensive database to find the support they need for every stage of their business, be it for financing, grants, networking, mentorship, training and so much more.
Women in Business New Brunswick (WBNB):Women in Business New Brunswick (WBNB) assists current and aspiring women entrepreneurs in reaching their full potential as business owners and leaders by providing quality, innovative and inclusive strategic guidance, support and training opportunities for women in New Brunswick seeking to start, improve or grow their business and diversify their markets.
